The Programme of Basic Research of the Presidium of RASThe volume “The Programme of Basic Research of the Presidium of RAS” is developed according to the assigned task of the Presidium of Russian Academy of Sciences and includes summary reports on the programmes of basic research of RAS in 2007.
Programmes of basic research are set up to achieve the necessary concentration of the material and intellectual resources of RAS establishments in compliance with the priority areas of basic research in natural and social sciences and the humanities. The research results in these priority areas are expected to have a great impact on the technological change in Russia.
Programmes of basic research of RAS represent the aggregate of research projects of interdisciplinary and interregional character, carrying out by the research organisations of RAS branches (by field and by direction of sciences), the regional branches of RAS and the regional research centres of RAS.
In 2007, RAS Presidium adopted 23 programmes of basic research of RAS. The summary reports of these programmes contain the most significant results, obtained in RAS institutes in 2007.
The volume is worked up on the base of materials, submitted by the programme and sub-programme coordinators, and is issued by Institute for the Study of Science, the Scientific and Organisational Department of RAS and the Division of Programme Research of RAS.
