The book contains statistical information on the scientific capacity of five Russian state academies of sciences (Russian Academy of Sciences, Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, Russian Academy of Education, and Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences). The data shed light on the place and role of the academies in the Russian R&D sector in 1995–2008. Science and technology indicators are grouped in two sections: the first one represents information based on regular state statistics; in the second section, departmental statistical data, supplementary to the regular statistics, are disposed.
The publication is addressed to state officials, top managers of the academies, and a wide range of researchers.
